Good PR VS Bad Press

Susan Haber, TV Talent Manager, TV Show Packager and Brand Builder | Hollywood TV Association Instructor

Not all PR is good PR, so be very careful. PR can make you or break you.

The wrong message can be a career killer, but the right message can catapult a career to new heights. Take these examples of Bad PR that either almost ended or did end some huge careers in one bad sentence or one wrong move.

Brace Yourself.

Billy Bush joking with Donald Trump on the bus

Tom Cruise jumping up and down on Oprah's couch

David Letterman's notorious Uma Oprah joke on the Oscars

Seinfeld's Michael Richards spewing racial hate at the Laugh Factory

And Here Are A Few Examples Of Good PR That Pushed Careers Forward Through Positive Messaging

Ariana Grande returns to Manchester with Katy Perry, Justin Bieber, Coldplay and more for benefit concert

Russell Brand gave a homeless man his shirt, a water bottle and a ride in his car

Kellie Pickler shaved her head so her best friend wouldn't feel alone going through chemotherapy

Justin Bieber flew a 6-year old cancer-stricken girl to New York to meet

And last, but surely not least, here is a negative that was turned into a positive in one Tweet. Donald Trump was trying to Tweet the word "coverage" but instead, mistakenly wrote "covfefe".
The world laughed for about 24 hours and then he recovered by making fun, "Who can figure out the true meaning of covfefe ??? Enjoy!"

Moral to this story - be VERY careful and leave your PR to the experts. Consider yourself warned!
